Next we will stop at the old Kansas City Airport sightseeing, home of the Airline History Musuem, which is home to one of the few preserved Super Connie airliners. Also, we will drive by the office that Howard Hughes once occupied, when he owned Trans World Airlines. |
Next we will proceed downtown where will pass the old Garment District, visiting the new Power & Light Entertainment District- home of the beautiful Sprint Center. While downtown you will also see some interesting buildings including City Hall, the New York Life Building, and two beautiful churches, The Grace Holy Trinity Cathedral, and The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception! This is a wonderful part of our sightseeing tour. |
From downtown airport we will stop at the historic Lewis and Clark sightseeing bronze statue, overlooking downtown airport, and view the merger of the Kansas and Missouri rivers! |
![]() After leaving the Liberty Memorial area, your next stop will be the Crown Center area, home of Hallmark Cards, numerous shops, skating rinks, and many quality hotels, including the Hyatt and Westin. We will then proceed past the revived Union Hill District sightseeing, past the Union Hill Cemetery, and view the KCMO Radio Tower, one of the tallest in the country. |
Just south of downtown is the revived Crossroad and Freight House District! The Crossroads District is home to a growing art community, with many interesting art galleries. The Freight House District is home to numerous quality restaurants, and is located just across the tracks from Union Station. The Union Station, has been recently restored, and is one of the largest operating train stations in the country. Up the hill from the Union Station sightseeing sits the Liberty Memorial, the only memorial in the country that honors those men that served in World War I. Inside the Memorial Grounds sits the World War I Museum, which was recently completed, housing artifacts from that war. |
From this neighborhood, we will stop off in the Westport Area sightseeing- one of Kansas City’s oldest sections. This area houses many taverns and restaurants. It also was a crossing point for many of the famous trails which western pioneers took out west. Many wagon trains were outfitted in the Westport area before their long journeys began. You will also see the Harris House- one of Kansas City’s oldest home. Leaving Westport, our next stop is the Country Club Plaza. This area is designed after its sister city in Spain. Spanish architecture dominates this district, home to many excellent restaurants, and the famous Christmas lights which are displayed from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Just east of the Plaza, you will see the Nelson Art Gallery- home to over 34,000 pieces of art! Also we will stop by the beautiful Kauffman Gardens, and drive by the Stowers Institute and the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC),campus. |

Heading west across State LineRoad sightseeingwe will cross into the state of Kansas! Here you can see the neighborhood of Mission Hills, Kansas.
This prestigious neighborhood is home to some of the most beautiful older homes in the Kansas City area!
On our way back downtown we will stop at the historic Indian Mission in Fairway Kansas, once home to one of the original Indian Missions west of the Mississippi.
If time permits, additional sightseeing tours can include, the Kansas City Royals baseball stadium sightseeing, and The Kansas City Chiefs football stadium.
Also a visit to the Village West area is possible- home to the Kansas Speedway Racecar Track, Cabela’s sporting goods store, and the Nebraska Furniture Mart!
